PowerTap Hydrogen Capital (NEO: MOVE) (FWB: 2K6) (OTC: MOTNF) and its wholly owned subsidiary PowerTap Hydrogen Fueling Corp have submitted a municipal siting application for a Northern California site for the installation of its PowerTap Gen3 Unit. The company also announced plans to submit applications for two additional sites next month. Once the applications have been approved, PowerTap will install its Gen3 modular hydrogen production and dispensing units at two gas stations in Humboldt County and one gas station in Monterey County. Humboldt County has the first hydrogen production and dispensing unit in California, which was installed in 2008. According to the announcement, the process of entitlement and construction permit approval typically takes an estimated 14 months from pre-application to the municipality; that process involves planning/site design review and approval, development of construction documents and final construction permitting. Based on that process, PowerTap expects to begin the actual commission and installation process by late 2022.
