Gratomic (TSX.V: GRAT) (OTCQX: CBULF) (FRA: CB82), a multinational company with projects in Namibia, Brazil and Canada, is reporting on its progress on earth-moving activities at its Aukam Graphite Project. According to the announcement, the onsite mining team is continuing to extract graphite as the bench-mining program; in fact, the company is reporting that 730 tons of graphite has been transferred to the Run of Mine (“ROM”) stockpile. One company official noted that the Aukam mining team has exceeded expectations, calling the achievement a “very welcome surprise.” The benching process used to reach this achievement involved successively cutting berms alongside the mountain edge to expose underground material while also ensuring the stability of the mountain structure, which allows for the collection of graphite in stages. Along with the report, the company noted that no preliminary economic analysis, preliminary feasibility study or feasibility study has been completed and no mineral resources or mineral reserves demonstrating economic viability and technical feasibility have been delineated on the Aukam property. The company is, however, working to complete a feasibility study on the Aukam processing plant. Gratomic will use that study to inform conclusions and recommendations moving forward; the supply of graphite that the company will be able to produce is conditional on bringing the Aukam project into a production phase. “The rapid pace at which the bench-mining team is operating gives us a great sense of confidence as we gear up towards the next, and final phases, of preproduction,” said Gratomic president and CEO Arno Brand in the press release.
